Background
Dr. Greg Kerr’s career has included management roles in local government at Wollongong and Randwick City Councils (including acting General Manager) followed by a career in business development. He was a Director of Tourism Wollongong, Tweed Tourism, Southern Counties (now Horizon) Credit Union and Vice-President of the Murwillumbah Chamber of Commerce. Until 2008, he was event coordinator for the City of Wollongong Australia Day celebrations. Greg is a current member of the Brand Wollongong Committee and is regularly a guest speaker at local government and community events and is a state judge for the Keep Australia Beautiful Council of NSW.
Since joining UOW in 2001, Greg has lectured in management and marketing subjects within the Faculty of Commerce. He currently supervises Masters by Research and PhD students researching in place marketing and is a member of the Institute for Innovation in Business and Social Research (IIBSoR).
Greg has held a number of governance roles at UOW including Head of Marketing, Chair of the Commerce Workplace Advisory Committee, Member of Academic Senate, Institutional representative for Australian New Zealand Marketing Academy and has served on Faculty Education, Research and Workload Committees. Currently he is Chair of the Commerce and Sydney Business School Alumni. Greg has recently worked with UOW Dubai assisting with the preparation of submissions for academic accreditation for the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, UAE.
