Commerce Higher Research Degree (HDR) Support Policy
Objective
The objective of the Faculty’s HDR Support Scheme is to provide resources (financial and other) that will support the research student in his/her candidature, facilitate timely completion of their thesis and provide opportunities to enhance their Curriculum Vitae.
Eligibility
All HDR students are eligible for this support. This includes Masters by Research and PhD students.
Type of Support
In addition to basic support services including workstations, printing, photocopying, internet, etc, the HDR Support Scheme will provide financial resources for the following items:
- Approved conference travel
- Approved short course enrolment
- Approved editing support for research articles and theses
- Approved field travel for data collection
Level of Support
The financial level of support for students will be:
- $3,500 over the student’s candidature for PhD students
- $1,750 over the student’s candidature for Masters Research students
Process Steps
This is the maximum funding allowance from the Faculty Research Division. All applications for funding must be approved and signed by the applicant’s supervisor before it will be considered.
