ARC Discovery grant for collaborative project

A collaborative research project undertaken by PandO members has been awarded an ARC Discovery grant of $90,000 over three years.

The project, "Generating insights for the future: a retrospective, comparative study of attempts to
implement large-scale electronic health record systems" will be conducted by Dr Karin Garrety (UOW), Professor Ian McLoughlin (Monash University), Dr Ping Yu (UOW), Dr Andrew Dalley (Medical Director of the Illawarra Division of General Practice) and Robert Wilson.

The retrospective, comparative study will analyse five attempts to set up regional and national systems for sharing electronic health records in Australia and Britain, in order to learn from the mistakes and successes of the past and improve the management of such complex technology projects in the future.

The project is one of several collaborative projects awarded seed funding by PandO.
