HEDGE generates ideas about, and fosters socioeconomic research into, health, environmental and economic development and growth. The centre’s researchers conduct high-quality studies using optimal control and econometric methods, and are published in leading publications.

Studies undertaken by HEDGE researchers have recently been published in several prestigious journals, including a refereed article in the ERA A*-rated Journal of Health Economics. The centre has also edited a book, generated several papers and been published in a number of other ERA-rated publications.
