HEDGE generates ideas about, and fosters socioeconomic research into, health, environmental and economic development and growth. The centre’s researchers conduct high-quality studies using optimal control and econometric methods, and are published in leading publications.

HEDGE provides an opportunity for external academics, PhD students and organisations interested in collaborative research to work alongside leading economists. HEDGE is a node of the Social Innovation Network (SInet), and welcomes opportunities for further collaboration.
Studies undertaken by HEDGE researchers have recently been published in several prestigious journals, including a refereed article in the ERA A*-rated Journal of Health Economics. The centre has also edited a book, generated several papers and been published in a number of other ERA-rated publications.
