A centre of excellence for issues concerning small and medium-sized enterprises, CSBRR brings together researchers from Australia and overseas to act as a catalyst for research in the Illawarra region. CSBRR provides consultation for businesses and government, training for businesses, and academic courses and research projects that attract leading PhD researchers.

The high-calibre researchers at the Centre for Small Business and Regional Research consult to businesses and government, disseminate business knowledge to the wider business community, and help formulate policy. The centre's unique Input-Output Model is able to measure the economic impact of businesses and policies.
8TH ANNUAL SMES IN A GLOBAL ECONOMY CONFERENCE
Khon Kaen University in north-eastern Thailand will host the 8th Annual SMEs in a Global Economy Conference, November 2011. Universities, government and industry from Malaysia, Thailand, Japan and China will be present. Associate Professor Charles Harvie will join keynote speakers from the UK and US.
KEYNOTE ADDRESS AT SYMPOSIUM

Dr Charles Harvie, Director of the Centre for Small Business and Regional Research, has been invited to give a keynote address and be a panel member at the forthcoming “Symposium on Engendering SME Development for a People-centred ASEAN Economic Community” gathering being organised by the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), and the Indonesian Ministry of Trade and Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises in Jakarta on 2 May 2011.
