Welcome to 2012 ANZRSAI Conference
2012 Australian and New Zealand Regional Science Association Conference: Connecting Regions: Research, Practice and Policy
UOW’s Faculty of Commerce will host the 2012 ANZRSAI Conference in Wollongong from 5th-7th December 2012.
The major theme for our 36th annual conference will be Connecting Regions: Research, Practice and Policy. As always, we invite contributions on any aspect of regional science, regional development or regional policy, but the focus of our keynote addresses and plenary sessions will explore how regions can strengthen connections within their area and how they can strengthen connections with the rest of the country and internationally.
Wollongong, third largest city of NSW, as a destination presents you with endless opportunities. Our magnificent coastline provides the very best environments with fabulous coastal routes dotted with crystal clear coves and clean white sands that stretch for many kilometres.
The spectacular un-spoilt rainforests that cover the escarpment of the Illawarra range, offer conference delegates an unsurpassed conference location. As a city in a coastal setting, delegates can successfully conference during the day then make the most of the many natural attractions after the conference concludes for the day.
Convenient freeways connect the region to Sydney and Canberra. It is just over one hour from Sydney CBD to the heart of Wollongong and two hours from Canberra. For an interesting overview of Wollongong and its current regional development initiatives, click on the embedded video below.
