Background
APEF (also known as the Sooyang Club) is a new international
economics group set up in May 2001 at the Kangwon National University,
Chunchon, Korea.
The 1st APEF conference was hosted by Kangwon National University,
Chuncheon, Korea, the 2nd one was hosted by Wollongong University, Wollongong,
Australia and 3rd one was hosted by Keio University, Japan.
2001 APEF memberships include academics from high-level universities
in the Asia Pacific region. President and Secretary of APEF for year
2004 are Zhao Yanyun (Renmin University of China, China) and Charles
Harvie (University of Wollongong, Australia).
Objectives
APEF's objectives are to research, discuss and disseminate
substantive findings and information on development, growth, trade,
regional integration and international economic relations in APEF countries
with special focus on East Asia, South East Asia and Oceania.
