Shirley joined the School of Accounting and Finance in 2010. Prior to that, she has worked as a casual tutor, teaching various accounting and finance subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the school since 2007.
Shirley graduated with a Master of Professional Accounting Degree from the University of Wollongong in 2006. Continuing her academic endeavours, she emigrated to Australia and completed a Master of Accountancy by Research Degree in 2009. Her master’s thesis was focused on evaluating MetaCapitalism efficiency in the Telecommunications Sector in Australia. Currently, her PhD in researching the legal and political evolvement of greenhouse and energy audits in Australia. Shirley has broad research interests in auditing and assurance, management accounting, accounting theory and accounting information systems.
Prior to her academic career, Shirley worked extensively in the international trade and logistics, telecommunications and hospitality industries both in China and Australia. Shirley’s next goal is to build a nexus between research and teaching for her evolving academic career.
