Loretta joined the School of Accounting and Finance in February 2008, after casually tutoring for the School in 2007. Loretta is currently teaching financial planning subjects for undergraduate students.

Loretta has combined work and study in the finance industry since 1982; initially commencing her accounting studies while starting in her first role as a clerk for the State Bank of NSW. While moving through the positions of teller, personal lender, credit analyst and commercial lender, Loretta completed her TAFE Accounting Certificate and Business Diploma and then commenced undergraduate studies with the University of Wollongong.

Loretta transferred into financial planning in 1998 and became a Bachelor of Commerce (with Merit) graduate in 1999. Loretta worked as a Certified Financial Planner following completion of the Diploma of Financial Planning in 2000, prior moving into academia.

Loretta completed her Master of Commerce (Financial Planning) studies in 2009 and is currently studying Master of Finance - Research, with a view to transfer to PhD studies in 2011.

  • Population ageing – the intergenerational impact
  • Advice – client tailored advice v industry/political constraints
  • Risk profiling – relevance, behaviour labelling
