Bob joined the department as a full time lecturer in 1990 having taught Taxation Law as a part-time lecturer for a number of years. He spent several years teaching Accounting in Uganda and Kenya, obtaining his Diploma of Education from the University of East Africa. On returning to Australia he spent 17 years teaching in the NSW TAFE system as well as acting as a consultant on accounting and taxation matters.
His lecturing responsibilities are concerned with management accounting while his research interests are in management accounting, accounting history and small business. He is a Certified Practicing Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant.
He had several recent successes in research having several books and articles in top international journals. He was the winner of the Manuscript Award for Accounting History in 1997 and he received a citation for top article in ANBAR. In 1998 he conducted an extensive historical survey of the administration of railways in NSW.
