The metaCapitalism research programme is part of a global research network affiliated with the MetaCapitalism Research Centre, which is a global think tank, which was established in 2000.  The research broadly examines the role of “efficiency” changes to capital, technology and labor in the private and public sectors, and their overall impact on global financial markets.  It aims to highlight the socio-economic, political and ethical considerations to “market efficiencies” long term effects on the individual and society.  The research critically examines how new business and technological models, such as: MetaCapitalism, utilise Information Technology developments, such as: autonomic computing and mobile technologies to create (or deplete) value in organisations. One of the main application areas of the research is the performance evaluation of the Fortune Global 1000 corporations and the long-term socio-economic, political and ethical implications of their efficiency change strategies. This research programme is different from others because it adopts an interdisciplinary approach to markets microstructure analysis and evaluation.  The programme is funded from private and public sources to ensure its independence.
