Systems Development

The Commerce IT Unit undertakes software development tasks that benefit the faculty in the areas of administration, teaching and research, and provides consulting to all faculty staff requiring support in software development for both research and teaching.

Systems developed by the Commerce IT Unit include:

  • a web based Tutorial Preference System for enrolling students in tutorials,
  • a SUBMIT System for online quizzes and electronic assignment submission,
  • The Subject Outline Template System for producing all faculty subject outlines based on a standard template
  • Barcode Assignment Cover Sheet System for streamlining  the collection of assignments for subjects with large numbers of students by Commerce Central
  • Commerce Central Enquiries Register
  • Consultation Booking System for allowing student to book consultations with their lecturers
  • Commerce Internship Program Management System

Current and ongoing projects will help faculty staff better manage the process of employing and monitoring the work done by casual academic teaching staff, the maintenance of the Faculty Web and Intranet Sites, the development of systems to allow for the migration of the laboratories from Windows XP to Windows 7.
