About the IT Support Unit
The Commerce IT Support Unit is responsible for delivering an IT infrastructure that supports the administrative, research & teaching requirements of the Faculty of Commerce.
Areas of responsibility include:
- procurement & asset management
- desktop & server management (availability, security, backups & recovery)
- strategic planning
- support & delivery services
- systems development
- student laboratory management
This Faculty managed IT structure provides several key operational & performance benefits for Faculty staff, students & IT Support Unit staff:
- a consistent yet sufficiently flexible and productive IT environment that meets the diverse needs and circumstances of Commerce staff & students;
- builds a localised IT culture enhancing communication & trust between staff & IT Support team
- ensures IT compliance with UOW IT Policies
- a common environment for IT Support team - allowing them to manage the environment not fight "fires".
