Who's Who in Commerce

Faculty of Commerce

The Faculty of Commerce is committed to inspiring socially innovative commerce through research and teaching. We believe that our research and teaching should support the generation of sustainable value for the communities we serve. We seek to build equitable partnerships in order to pursue mutual goals.

Commerce has earned a strong reputation both nationally and internationally for the quality of our graduates and our teaching and research programmes. Our reputation is reflected in employer demand for our graduates, who enjoy high employment rates and high starting salaries. It is also reflected in our ability to attract and retain well qualified academic and professional staff.

The Faculty has significant local, national and international research linkages that contribute strongly to our robust research profile. This is further sustained by strong outputs and the attraction of high calibre research students.

Business Studies Day a Great Success

Over 100 high school students attended the UOW Business Studies Day on June 23, learning about effective exam techniques and employment options in business and commerce during a recession.

Hosted annually by the UOW Faculty of Commerce, this year’s Business Studies Day featured experts in the field of finance and employment relations and provided high school students with an insight into tertiary study and career opportunities.

The Dean noted that "Current high school students will be stepping into a very different economic climate when they graduate. Socially innovative commerce marks a new style of business approach and our annual Business Studies Day keeps students abreast of the changing business landscape."
