Learning DesignThe Learning Design unit was set up in January 2002 with the aim of ensuring sound pedagogical design of CEDIR educational multimedia products. The learning design process values academic partnership and aims to maximise staff development opportunities during the development of educational resources. Learning Design staff work in conjunction with Educational Systems Development staff to focus on the design, prototyping and development of high-quality teaching and learning resources. They have a particular emphasis on the development of reusable learning designs, generic development tools and quality assurance of learning products. Designers facilitate minor and major changes to your subject or program outline that might involve:
- Designing equitable learning opportunities for a blend of face-to-face and distance/online students
- Planning the development of computer based tools to support learning activities and assessment

The Learning Designer allocated to your project may draw on or refer to expertise from other related CEDIR programs eg Tailored workshops from the Staff Development Program, or support from the Evaluation team to design effective student evaluation of your resources. Negotiating FSA supportAny academic staff member from the University of Wollongong whose request for support is directly related to a subject or program can negotiate with their faculty for CEDIR support under Faculty Service Agreement. For projects that may not be eligible for free CEDIR support under Faculty Service Agreement, there are a number of other funding options that could be investigated.
