Introduction to Tertiary Teaching (ITT)

The Introduction to Tertiary Teaching course (ITT) is offered to all University of Wollongong academic teaching staff and casual teaching staff through the Centre for Educational Development and Interactive Resources (CEDIR) at no cost.

ITT is comprised of three units:

  • Unit 1: The Teaching Skills workshops
  • Unit 2: The Learning Through Teaching Project (LTTP)
  • Unit 3: A relevant scholarly project negotiated with the ITT Course Coordinator


Staff who complete the ITT course may apply for specified credit for EDGA997, Introduction to Tertiary Teaching, a subject within the Faculty of Education's Graduate Certificate in Higher Education.

The ITT is designed to be completed over one or two sessions. An extension beyond two sessions may be granted where requested.
