Guide for new academic staff
New staff members are encouraged to:
- familiarise themselves with the university's Learning and Teaching Strategic Plan
- download a copy of the Teaching at UoW Handbook
- check out the workshops for this session
- contact Teaching Services (Ext 3140 or email teaching-services@uow.edu.au ) regarding University Learning and Teaching, a must for all new academic staff
- contact Teaching Services (Ext 3140 or email teacher-evaulation@uow.edu.au ) to ask about Teacher Evaluations or visit the information page.
- get to know the lecture theatres you'll be using - they have fully equipped multimedia facilities - and some have videoconference links (Phil Rogan phil_rogan@uow.edu.au x3930)
- visit Audiovisual Services in the basement of Building 20 to familiarise yourself with the portable AV equipment and laptops you can book for use in other Common Teaching Areas (x3993)
- familiarise themselves with eTeaching Systems (click on Manage my eLearning on the UOW Intranet Welcome page) which provides educational, technical and operational support for teaching involving information and communication technologies.
