If you’re an international student, are enrolled in either an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at UOW and, have completed at least 96 credit points, you can apply to do GWP100. As spaces are limited, preference is given to postgraduate students.

Currently GWP100 is available to undergraduate and postgraduate international students from the following faculties:

• Health & Behavioural Sciences
• Informatics

Then follow the steps below:

Step 1: If you meet the eligibility requirements above, register your interest by completing the online registration form. Before registering please check the timetable information below for timetable clashes with your other subjects.

Step 2: Careers Central staff will review all expressions of interest and let you know if your application has been successful by July for Spring.

Step 3: If you receive an email to say your application has been successful, we will give you further information on how to enrol.

About the Course

Topics covered include:

• The Australian labour market and recruitment practices
• Australian workplace culture, behaviour and expectations
• Career decision making and how reflection before, during and after the workplace experience can support ongoing decision making about courses, careers and ongoing employability.
• Writing effective job applications, including online forms and responding to selection criteria
• Preparing for other recruitment processes – such as interviews and psychometric testing
• Introduction to various workplace learning experiences available and completing all university documentation.

Students must participate in all job application programs (resume reviews, mock interview day) and set tasks to be eligible for a GWP placement.
