The Careers Service is excited to offer you access to the latest version of the highly acclaimed resource 'The Edge', which deals with getting started, applying on paper, applying online, creative job seeking, and the job interview.

The 2009 version again includes extra functional tools, such as:

  • employer comments (via video) about job applications and job interview techniques
  • sample resumes with comments
  • sample letters with comments and advice built in (annotated)
  • templates to build entries for your portfolio of skills

You can access the online version here (PDF document, approx 5 MB. Please read the technical/download/user & copyright details first), or come into our offices and pick up the CD Rom version or a hard copy version (the printed version does not have the additional functions listed above).

  5. CISCO Internship Program (August 2009 - January 2010) - Join Cisco and immediately contribute to how they innovate, sell, and support the solutions that are shaping the future. Their 6-month internship will give you Networking Lab-time, a CCNA qualification, and hands-on experience solving clients’ networking problems. Applications close 10 July 2009!
  6. IAESTE: An international work experience program - The University of Wollongong is now a member of the International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE). IAESTE can provide overseas work experience opportunities to University of Wollongong students studying degrees in engineering, science, and technology related disciplines. Paid professional traineeships are available in over 80 countries and range from 2-12 months.
