PWC PREVIEW
PricewaterhouseCoopers Preview is a three day development program designed to help bridge the gap between university and workforce. The program is open to, domestic, well rounded individuals regardless of their degree or background, university year or careers aspirations. PWC Preview provides participants with three days of business and employability skills workshops, exposure to networking with business leaders and a valuable insight into life at a professional services firm. The PWC Preview program occurs in February 2010. Applications are currently open and close end of October 2009. For more details check here.

OUR NEW CAREERS CENTRAL WEBSITE AND IMAGE ARE COMING
We are currently redesigning and building our new website - the aim being to provide you with a better career and job seeking website - and part of all this will be a new logo. Keep an eye out for both of these in the next month or two.

This time of the year, we are still seeing new organisations announcing their recruitment campaigns - as the economy starts to gather momentum, more organisations are deciding to recruit. Make sure you are regularly checking 'My JobBoard'.

WORKING OVERSEAS - GOING GLOBAL
Are you thinking ‘global’ and are considering overseas work or work experience? Careers Central has a partnership with Going Global, a great site which provides all sorts of info on finding work and living overseas. Why not check it out? Have a look and explore the reality of working in one of dozens and dozens of countries. Get advice on visa conditions, the local culture and lots more!
Careers Central has signed up with Going Global, all you need to do is authorise yourself as a UOW student by entering your UOW username and password and all the info is at your fingertips!

You can email us your resume to be checked BUT first of all you need to attend a workshop and review the material in our job seeking resource 'The Edge' . We will email you back some comments within 2 or 3 working days IF you tell us your student no. and what the role is you are applying for - with some details about the opportunity. Send your resume to careers@uow.edu.au
MOCK INTERVIEWS
If you are about to have an interview we can assist you with your preparation by running you through a mock interview. Interviews can be for casual, vacation or permanent work. Just make an appointment with a careers counsellor by phoning 4221 3325 or emailing careers@uow.edu.au.

WANT TO GO BUSH? - WORK EXPERIENCE WITH A COUNTRY TOUCH
Brolga is a work experience program designed to bridge the city/country divide linking students needing work experience with under-staffed businesses, non-profit agencies and government departments in regional and rural Australia. Recent placements have included, an engineering student going to a Western NSW council and law students travelling to the South Burnett area in Queensland to do work experience with a Child Safety Service.
