COMM290
This elective is running again this year in Spring
Session. The enrolled students have been split
into two teams; each team working with a host organisation.
This year we are delighted to continue our association
with two of Wollongong’s respected businesses,
Illawarra Credit Union and Cardno Forbes Rigby.
These two hosts have provided a real business challenge
for each team to work on during semester. This will
culminate in a oral presentation to the organisation
early in November, when team members will reveal the
results of their work and provide the host a Business
Report.
The next COMM290 is scheduled for Autumn Session
2008. Any student who is interested in joining
this popular course, please contact srejske@uow.edu.au
for further information.

CAREERS SERVICE STAFF CHANGES
For the last 7 months Jeff Riley has
been here on exchange from London. Jeff flies back to
London this week, and our own Careers Counsellor Robyn
Gleeson returns, fresh with new knowledge and
ideas to assist the students of the university. A new
face starting next week is Michael Grainger.
Michael will be liaising with the employer community
– seeking out new opportunities for students to
gain part time and full time work options, including
more work placements. So its welcome back
Robyn - and welcome to Michael.
When you pop into our offices from next week, you’ll
notice some changes to our office layout. Students still
have access to our computers for job seeking and related
careers information – they have just been moved
around the corner in our office.

campus, an opportunity listed here regarding an activity
at Wollongong may not be easily accessible. If this
is the case, you might like to email our office (careers@uow.edu.au)
or phone (02 4221 3325) and we may be able to suggest
some alternatives. |
