If you haven't updated your records since September 2007, please do so before February 2008. Please also remember, if you FINISHED your studies in 2007, you need to re-submit your details with a NON UOW email address!

UNIVATIVE ILLAWARRA
Your job search will be more effective if you can show employers evidence of your:
- Team work
- Problem solving abilities
- Practical application of Theoretical Knowledge
Univative gives you an opportunity to all this and learn a lot about a local business.
Univative is a group project focused on delivering a real solution to a real business problem using a range of skills and disciplines.
The next Univative program will run from 4 to 22 February 2008.

EMPLOYMENT EXPERIENCE PROGRAM
The Careers Service has another interesting employment experience available over the next few weeks.
The project involves conversion of an existing Microsoft Access/SQL database to a new format. This database underpins a Quality/HR System that supports Disability Services.
Timeframe is anywhere from now until Christmas, at least a 1 week commitment is necessary up to a maximum of 4 weeks.

CERTIFICATE IN GLOBAL WORKPLACE PRACTICE
The Pilot of the Certificate in Global Workplace Practice is now in its final stages with 26 international students completing their Masters of Professional Accounting now on a four week work experience placement in a variety of roles and projects working for a range of companies and industries.

CAREERS SERVICE INTERNSHIP 2007
The 2007 Careers Service Interns have just concluded a very interesting year working with the Careers Service. They were involved in many activities such as the Careers Fairs and promotional activities around the campus. You may have seen them out under a gazebo offering our Mobile Careers Service or presenting at one of your lectures.
Recruitment has just finished for the next group of Interns who will start their program in 2008. Recruitment starts in September each year so keep an eye on our website if you would like to apply for a position for 2009!

THE 27TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF GRADUATE CAREERS ADVISORY SERVICES
Due to the 27th Annual Conference of the National Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services being held in Wollongong this year, the Careers Service will operate with limited staff and has reduced office opening hours from 2-5 December. Please be aware and book in advance, if you wish to use our services.

UOW INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION
Group leaders, both undergraduate and postgraduate, are required from all faculties to assist at International Student Orientation. More details here.

OPENING HOURS OVER THE SUMMER HOLIDAY BREAK
The Careers Service will be closed from 5pm on Friday 21st December until Wednesday 2nd January. In that first week of January we will have a number of staff on leave and then back to normal operations from Monday 7th January, operating 9am to 5pm.
