Job Title: Careers Central Interns - Marketing/Communications focus
Job Specification: We seek 3 Interns to work with our staff to support our communications
and marketing activities across campus. After orientation and training in the early weeks you will be working
across a wide variety of tasks - ranging from designing and implementing marketing activities, to writing copy
for online formats, to staging events to engage student involvement in Careers Central activities. This
restructured program in 2010 is designed to provide focused professional development for UOW students.
Essential Skills: - knowledge of discipline(s) related to the role
- strong
commitment to working in related fields at the end of your studies
- outgoing communicator with a
creative approach to communicating information
- comfortable with all communication mediums,
including social media - able to connect and engage with a diverse range of students and staff
- proven
strengths in managing multiple tasks
- strong administration and IT related skills
Desirable Skills: - comfortable with desk top publishing software
- capable
public speaker
Additional Info: Work closely with staff for a 4 hour shift, one day per week for Autumn
semester. Shift to be either 9.30 -1.30 or 12.30 to 4.30. Unpaid placement which will provide valuable insights
into Marketing and Communication focused roles. Strengthen your ideas on your future career and gain a
professional track record of work related activities.
