Job Title: Careers Central Interns - Career Development/HR focus
Job Specification: We seek 5 Interns to work with our staff to support our careers and
recruitment related activities with students and employers. After orientation and training in the early weeks you
will be working across a wide variety of tasks - ranging from resume checks to supporting workplace learning
programs to employer liaison. This restructured program in 2010 is designed to provide focused professional
development for UOW students.
Essential Skills: - relevant discipline knowledge
- interest in working in HR or
career development at the conclusion of your studies
- strong communication and presentation skills
- sensitivity to working with a diverse range of students and staff
- professional work ethic (privacy
considerations important) and commitment to high standards
Desirable Skills: - capacity to manage multiple tasks
- comfortable with
Microsoft Office suite of programs
Additional Info: Work closely with staff for a 4 hour shift, one day per week for Autumn
semester. Shift to be either 9.30 -1.30 or 12.30 to 4.30. Unpaid placement which will provide valuable insights
into HR and career focused roles. Strengthen your ideas on your future career and gain a professional track
record of work related activities
