Job Specification: Raise The Gong is a 100% volunteer run, health promotion charity
based in Wollongong NSW. Our aim is to promote the health and well-being of all women - particularly those
with cancer. Our focus is on the local community, and all funds raised go directly back to support women in the
Illawarra. We hold regular events, fundraising campaigns and activities, and are looking for an enthusiastic
volunteer to assist us in reaching our goals. Just some of the things we have coming up are: - Stress
Less Sunday - festival picnic in Stuart Park
- Chemo Care Kit Launch - we have developed care packs
for women entering into chemotherapy treatment. These will be launched in March.
- Annual Trivia Night
for Women's Cancer
- Mother & Daughter Afternoon Tea ...and more!!!!
Applicants must be
willing to attend a fortnightly meeting, and also complete tasks as required between meetings.
Essential Skills: - Current financial member, or willing to become a member of
Raise The Gong
- Ability to attend 1 x 2hr meeting per fortnight (Tuesdays) in Wollongong

Computer literate with regular access to internet and email
- Commitment to the promotion of health for
women
- Willing to participate in after-hours and weekend events from time to time
- Abide by
legislative requirements - Associations Act, Charitable Fundraising Act.
Desirable Skills: - Skills in marketing and promotion
- Money handling skills -
appropriate for the role of a treasurer within our organisation
- Creative and imaginative - help us think
of new and different ways to promote health in the region
Additional Info: Raise The Gong management committee members oversee the day-to-
day running of the organisation. The committee is currently made up of women aged between 21 and 35, all
with other full-time commitments. We work hard outside of our current responsibilities to make Raise The Gong
a successful local charity....we are seeking someone like-minded with the same goals!

positions are temporary and are re-elected at the Annual General Meeting (April each year). Successful
applicants may re-nominate themselves for a position on the board at the AGM.
