Job Title: Intern, Technical Services
Job Specification: "Recreates" - Lab-Recreates are used to help troubleshoot and isolate
customer network problems. Recreates can be very complex utilising many pieces of equipment and multiple
protocols, including routing, switching, security and voice. Testing and Research - Under direction the intern
may be required to develop and complete test plans to isolate an issue. Interns may also be requested to
perform research using all the available Cisco resources to help resolve customer issues
Essential Skills: Strong interest in networking technologies and understanding of how
these impact the internet Ability to work on own initiative, as well be a strong team player Excellent written &
verbal communication skills, with ability to translate "tech-speak" into layman's language
Desirable Skills: Cisco qualifications (eg. CCNA)
Additional Info: Certification - All interns are expected to attain the CCNA (Cisco Certified
Network Associate). All training material and assistance will be provided. Training - All interns will complete an
extended boot camp which includes the following topics - Soft skills: Verbal and written
communications; Influencing and time management
- Technical Training: Network tools, IP
fundamentals; Device architectures, LAN switching; Routing protocols (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP); NMS,
Security Voice and Wireless
- Process & Business tools: Training on Cisco processes & tools to
perform the role

Work Arrangements: Paid Internship with competitive salary from 3 Aug 2009 to 29 Jan
2010 in Chatswood.
