Job Title: Volunteer Peer Educator
Job Specification: Volunteers are placed in pairs-1 international and 1 local volunteer.
They will work in communities and with youth to address important health issues through non-formal techniques-
in particular sport. Volunteers will implement the following: - Sexual and Reproductive Health, HIV & AIDS,
Civic Participation, Health Education and Life Skills Modules using non-formal education techniques targeting
the in-school youth, out-of school youth, and parents, teachers and community leaders.
- Establish
sustainable Youth Action Groups and Youth Resource Centres in target communities
- Train a cadre of
community-based peer educators
Essential Skills: - You just need to be enthusiastic, committed and passionate about
making a difference.
Desirable Skills: - Have an interest in health, education, community development and
international relations
Additional Info: SPW is an international development charity that recruits and trains young
adults (aged 18-28) as volunteer Peer Educators, to lead programmes that address urgent health and
environmental issues in Africa and Asia.
