Job Title: 2009 APS ICT Cadetship Program
Job Specification: If you're interested in ICT, value teamwork and like to use your initiative...the Australian Government wants to employ you as an ICT professional! The APS ICT Cadetship Program is employing current university students to work part-time in an Australian Government agency while completing a university undergraduate degree.
Essential Skills: No previous IT experience is required - but an interest and desire to learn more about it is essential! You will need to enrol in an IT Major as a minimum, to make sure you can apply your studies to your job; and what you learn on the job to your studies.
Desirable Skills: You will be selected by one of the participating Australian Government agencies across the country. Each agency focuses on a specific area, such as communication, defence, finance, environment, education, workplace relations, health, community services, science and so on.
Additional Info: You have a great opportunity for employment in the APS, getting relevant work experience as you complete your undergraduate studies. Cadets earn an attractive and competitive salary package, including leave and superannuation. You will be eligible for pay increases as you successfully complete each year on the Program. You will also receive a generous study allowance to support your university costs.
