Job Title: Aboriginal Graduate Work Placement
Job Specification: The NSW Department of Education and Training works to improve the
social and economic well being of the people of NSW through a responsive and sustainable education and
training system. You will be working in Human Resources where what we do makes a difference in supporting
our teachers and students. Your work placement will be for 60 working days, preferably starting in September
2008. Your salary will be $14,106. We are flexible as to whether you work full time from September till December
2008 or part time for two or three days per week during this placement
Essential Skills: As an Aboriginal Project Officer working in Human Resources, you will
work in a stimulating environment with opportunities to develop yourself professionally and network with
colleagues. You will: * Conduct research and assist consultation process with major stakeholders to develop a
new Aboriginal Employment strategy and a new diversity in the workforce strategy * Contribute to programs to
improve retention and professional learning outcomes for Aboriginal staff in schools * Gain an understanding of
operational areas of human Resources, and * Participate in regular unit meetings and other activities as
requested by your manager.
