Job Title: Caritas Volunteer @ Custom's House, Circular Quay
Job Specification: Be More at World Youth Day! We are looking for volunteers to assist us at Customs House with a number of activities. These will include: • Photograph Exhibition: we will need guides to show visitors through the exhibition. Those who can speak a foreign language would be invaluable. • Technology corner: Volunteer at our technology corner and be part of recording and editing short video clips that will connect young people from around the world. If you feel you are not IT savvy, training will be provided. • Spruikers: those who “have the gift of the gab” and love to motivate and encourage people to join the fight against poverty would be an asset! • Advocacy Activities: If you are creative, or have a particular interest in promoting change we would love your help!
Essential Skills: • Positive attitude • Enthusiasm
Desirable Skills: • This event will attract an international audience - those who know languages other than English will be great!
Additional Info: • Help give a voice to those in our world who cannot be a part of world youth day because they are marginalized or disadvantaged • Gain valuable work experience • Practice your speaking skills in French, Spanish, Italian and English. • Meet hundreds of young people from around the world • Share your knowledge and skills with others • Receive a letter of reference upon request • Tea/Coffee will be provided - lunch/dinner for some shifts • Go into the draw for a beautiful indigenous basket for volunteering
