Job Specification: The Microsoft Student Partner (MSP) program offers students a number
of opportunities and benefits. The program is run as a way to reward star students and to help them deliver
better learning experiences to their peers.
Essential Skills: Responsibilities and desired characteristics are as follows: * Need to be
from a Computing Science / IT background. * Desirable but not mandatory is a comprehensive knowledge of
latest trends and developments in IT & technology spheres. * Essential is a strong social network on campus.
They ultimately need to have a broad reaching network that spans across faculties. * Focus on delivering
content that will benefit their peers. * All MSPs must be serious about having fun – if they enjoy being in the
limelight, they’re a natural MSP.
Desirable Skills:
Additional Info: MSPs receive: * A free MSDN subscription. * Career Opportunities. a.
Gives hands-on experience in marketing & promotions in IT. b. Looks great on a CV. * Invitations to Microsoft
events. * Letter of commendation for high achievers at end of their stint as an MSP. * Preferential treatment in
the recruitment process for Microsoft technical roles at our Redmond , USA HQ. * A (small) expense account to
cover food/printing/admin fees for events they organise. * High achieving student partners are flown to industry
events such as Tech.Ed and Remix. * Assorted other Microsoft products and merchandise. In return, MSPs act
as the link between Microsoft and the university they attend. For example, Microsoft Student Partners might
help promote Imagine Cup, a technology competition for university students. It requires very little ‘hard’ work,
and should ALWAYS fun.
