Job Specification: International Volunteering is a unique means of gaining practical career experience while making positive contributions to communities around the world. Volunteering provides experiences and skills that are appealing to potential employers; it can build self-esteem, confidence and allow you to test run a career option. It also provides you with the opportunity to engage with and work alongside others from various cultures and lifestyles.

The experience IVI gives you:

  • Considering a career in community development? Assist a centre for disadvantaged youth in Mongolia, participate in women’s advocacy in Kenya or deliver essential aid through four countries in Southern Africa
  • Thinking of becoming a Doctor or Nurse? Help out at an eye-camp in Bangladesh, the children’s ward of a hospital in Fiji, or care for the elderly and disabled in the UK
  • Interested in building or architecture? You could help restore a castle in Italy, build a school in Nepal, or reconstruct a tsunami battered village in India
  • Want to work with animals? Try a cattle farm in Finland, a Zoological Park in Australia, bat research in Panama, or Sea Turtle protection in Guatemala
  • Wonder what being a teacher is really like? Teach spoken English in schools or orphanages in a country like Argentina, China, Brazil, Lebanon, Mexico, Turkey, Vietnam and more
Each volunteer placement can range from 2 to 12 weeks. You can participate in either a Single Placement Program or a Multiple Placement Program as part of your travels around a country, a continent or the world. All placements are tailored to your individual interests. Any individuals' skills or expertise will be employed to maximum benefit in any parts of the project that best utilise their skills.
