Job Title: GVI Internship
Job Specification: Critical conservation and humanitarian projects in over 30 countries rely
on GVI for volunteers, promotion and direct funding. GVI works locally with its partners to promote sustainable
development through environment research, conservation and education. GVI volunteers benefit from
exceptional support, training and an internship scheme. Field work placements include: Turtle Monitoring and
Whale Shark Tagging with Marine Conservation Society in the Seychelles and Internships in various National
Parks in Mexico ranging from turtle and bird surveying to jaguar monitoring.
Internships are available on the following programs:
- Marine research in Mexico or the Seychelles - conducting coral reef transects using Scuba - for
qualified and non-qualified divers, extra qualifications available.
- Wildlife conservation in the Amazonian or Costa Rican rainforests - Costa Rica involves turtle and jaguar
surveys, Amazon (Ecuador) is mainly amphibian. Amazing adventure side-trips.
- Research and exploration in the wilds of Patagonia for 6 or 12 weeks - includes Condor surveys and
extreme weather training.
- Predator research, animal tracking and marine mammal studies in Kenya or South Africa - crucial
conservation work tracking big game in South Africa, and also with dolphins and primates in Kenya.
- Gain a TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) qualification and teach in Mexico's stunning Yucatan
peninsula, or in the kingdom of Thailand. Amazing work - placement opportunities, and in Thailand the
opportunity to be a part of an advance expedition in June.
