GLOBAL CAREER EXPO - THURSDAY 4TH & FRIDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER 2008

11 NSW/ACT universities have joined forces to connect international and Australian students with international employers so they can explore international work opportunities

If you are an international or Australian student and interested in what employment opportunities the world has to offer then get to the 2008 Global Career Expo!

When: Thursday, 4 September 2008
Time: 10am to 4pm
Where: University of Technology Sydney, Level 5, Tower Building, Broadway

The Global Career Expo is your chance to meet international employers with overseas work opportunities. The expo will be held over two days at the University of Technology, Sydney (Broadway Campus) near Central Station. The first day of the event will be your chance to gather information from organisations that interest you and attend organisations' information sessions (you can chat with representatives from 26 organisations - such as Cathay Pacific, Bloomberg, Accenture, Procter & Gamble, and the Hong Kong Economic & Trade Office). On the second day, you have the option of returning for interviews with organisations which interested you on Thursday.

Attendance is free, so come along and hear from and talk to potential employers from all over the world! Register for the EXPO online NOW!!

The company information sessions on Thursday are on Level 6, Tower Building, Broadway.

 


LUCY MENTORING PROGRAM

The fabulous LUCY Mentoring Program will be winding up on Friday 5th September. Participants and their mentors will be meeting to present the outcomes of the work based activities they have been undertaking. The LUCY program will be offered again in May 2009. INFORMATION SESSIONS

The Australian Fisheries Management Authority is looking to recruit students studying: Natural Resource Management, Marine Science, Fisheries Management, Environmental Science, Maritime and Environmental Law, Natural Resource Economics.

VACATION WORK AND GRADUATE RECRUITMENT PROGRAMS

If next year is your final year, it is still time to apply for vacation work over the summer holidays. We have done some of the work for you and listed a range of the companies offering vacation work. Besides visiting the website, come into our office and pick up free copies of Vacation Work guides. Closing dates can be from now until end of September, so don’t delay.

ON THE ROAD WITH THE CAREERS SERVICE

Careers Counsellor Robyn Gleeson is taking off on a road trip to visit the external campuses. If you are attending any of these campuses you can have a chat with Robyn about any career related matters. Check your Coordinators office for the details but here are the dates:

ORIENTATION HOST @ UOW

Get paid to meet new UOW students as they arrive for Orientation in 2009. Help them find their way and answer their questions about life @ UOW.
