You are invited to attend the Faculty of Law’s first ever Career Readiness Conference!

There are no shortcuts to job-seeking success, or to refining your interview technique. Before you can present your case in the courtroom, you need to be able to argue your way into a job. The Career Readiness conference will get you better prepared for a career in Law, providing you with the information and tools you need to help you transition into the workforce.

About the Conference:

The Career Readiness Conference is a full day program for students from the Faculty of Law. The Conference encompasses a key note speaker, industry panels, tips for applying for jobs and effective interview techniques, panel discussions, and a mock interview component. You will gain knowledge and insights about the legal industry through participating in workshops and from a panel of industry-based professionals, as well as receiving some helpful advice from recent graduates about their journeys since graduating. The mock interviews will provide students with the opportunity to be interviewed by UOW alumni and industry experts and receive constructive face-to-face feedback.

At the conclusion of the Conference, the networking event will give students the valuable opportunity to meet and network with conference interviewers, presenters & Law Faculty members.

Learn how to create and shape your cover letter and resume, display your skills, knowledge and experience effectively and tailor your application to the position you are applying for.

Part One: Thursday 2nd August 2012 - 12:30 - 1:30pm Room 67-202
1 hour session on resume and cover letter writing, tailored to law students.

Part Two: Tuesday 7th August 2012 - 12:30 - 1:30pm Room 67-202
1 hour follow up session to review your resume with industry professionals on hand to give advice on what employers are looking for.

Lunch will be provided.
