Univative Illawarra Winter 2009
| Six Illawarra based organisations gained fresh insights into various challenges facing their own organisation following the successful completion of Winter Univative Illawarra.
Over a 4 weeks period - 29 June to 24 July - a total of 112 students participated in 12 teams to complete their work related challenges.
The six host organisations were, Longboard Brewing Company, Siteflex – Outsourced Solutions, Dixon Psortswear, The Fraternity Club, Myhelper.com.au and the Wollongong Hawks national basketball organisation.
Each of these hosts briefed the students on their organisation and the context of their business challenge/problem – ranging from e-marketing projects, product awareness, operational & import logistics and community engagement.
The students were studying from a wide range of courses and came from many different nationalities and backgrounds.
After working offsite to research the problem, preparing a report and a presentation during the 4 week period, the teams then presented their findings to the employers in front of their competing team. Competing teams recommendations, reports and presentations were then evaluated by the host organisation who selected the team to be awarded the prize for best report/presentation.
The following six winning teams were recognised with prizes at the completion of the presentations to the hosts:
- Team Marketball working with the Wollongong Hawks
- Team Kegs working with Longboard Brewing Company
- Team Dashax working with the Fraternity Club
- Team Spirit working with Dixon Sportswear – No. 10 Teamwear
- Team Black working with Siteflex – Outsourced Solutions
- Team Explorer working with myhelper.com.au
