Education… the field that allows you to open the minds of many.

An Education Degree is a useful tool that opens up doors you could have never imagined, and a Diploma of Education can be used to enhance a degree from another faculty. For all those who are completing (or considering) an Education Degree or Diploma, it can be easy to fall into the mindset that a career in education can only lead to a career as a teacher. However, a career in education can bring lots of exciting opportunities in many areas, such as:

  • Early Childhood: Work with very young children in Preschools and Long Daycare Centres, through to the child in the beginning years of school. Alternatively, opportunities are also available within organisations that specialise in special education curriculum and behavioural education programs.
  • Primary Education: Teach children from Kindergarten to Year 6 or ages 5-12 years. With a four-year qualification you can teach in other states and overseas! Alternatively, opportunities are also available within organisations that specialise in special education curriculum and behavioural education programs.
  • Secondary Education: Educate students in government, private and denominational schools between the ages of 13 and 18. Alternatively, opportunities are also available within organisations that specialise in special education curriculum, syllabus planning and private tuition.
  • Physical Health and Education: Employment opportunities in teaching, health promotion (i.e. Heart Foundation and Cancer Council), sporting organisations (i.e. Australian Institute of Sport and Australian Sports Drug Agency), Department of Education and Training, corporate fitness, personal trainers, fitness instructors and leisure centre management.
  • Honours and/or PhD: gives students the training and education to work in a professional research position.
  • Catholic Education Board
  • Department of Education and Training
  • Teaching overseas
  • Government and Organisational Policy
  • ……..AND MORE!
