This subject will give you an understanding of business strategy and planning, for large and small companies. You will apply your understanding both to clients and to your own businesses. You will analyse a range of different businesses and business environments and explore strategic choices and decision-making. You will analyse your own competencies and competitive advantages and those of your competitors, partners and clients.
Subject Objectives:
On successful completion of this subject, you will be able to: 1. Analyse businesses and business environments 2. Define strategies, set appropriate goals and define relevant metrics for both large companies and SMEs 3. Evaluate risk in a business context and manage its impact 4. Apply coaching and leadership skills to ensure strategies are implemented.
TBS 967 Innovation, Improvement and Change Management
This subject will help you to develop an understanding of innovation and how to use coaching skills to foster a culture of innovation and creativity, using coaching skills such as the use of non-directive questioning to encourage clients to propose their own solutions. You will also learn how to apply coaching skills to understanding responses to change and how to help people cope with change successfully.
Subject Objectives:
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to: 1. Understand theory and practice of innovation and change, 2. Develop understanding of coaching theory and practice & 3. Apply coaching skills in innovation and change.
TBS968 Business Coaching Research Paper
You will select a topic relevant to coaching in your industry and research it. Quantitative and qualitative research methodologies will be discussed as well data analysis and data presentation. You will present your research findings to peers and to academic staff. Ethical considerations will be discussed throughout the course. You will receive coaching and mentoring throughout your research, which will enhance your understanding of these processes as well as of the research itself.
