2011 SBS Alumni Reunion in Shanghai China

Sydney Business School held a well attended alumni reunion function in Shanghai at the Regal International East Asia Hotel on Sunday 6 November.

The event attracted 45 attendees with a wide cross section of graduates from UOW Sydney Business School, and also Commerce, Engineering, Informatics and Law faculties. Guest speakers for the event included Professor John Glynn, Executive Dean of SBS, Lee Li and Simon Jiang, both graduated from SBS with a Master of International Business degree.

Professor John Glynn gave a presentation that provided attendees with the latest developments at SBS, including the move of SBS Sydney campus to premises in the Gateway Building at 1 Macquarie Place which overlooks Sydney harbour at Circular Quay. He also announced an exciting alumni story competition for 2012 with first prize of a return ticket from Shanghai to Sydney. SBS alumni Lee Li is the General Manager (Eastern China) of Youku.com Inc. (NYSE: YOKU), one of the most popular video hosting service providers in China. Lee gave a speech on how new internet and mobile technology is going to change our daily life. Alumni were also treated to an interesting talk by Simon Jiang, who is now successfully running his own business in logistics in Shanghai. Simon gave the audience some very unique and practical advices on how to start their own business.
