Peer Review – Peer Observation of Teaching (on demand) - This workshop for Peer Observation of Teaching is part of the accreditation process for those nominated by Deans as Formal Peer Reviewers at UOW. It is run both for reviewers requiring this aspect of accreditation, and any staff who wish to know more about the Peer Review process of Peer Observation. It is highly recommended that those who are thinking of asking an accredited reviewer to observe them should know about the process. Please feel free to request additional workshops on peer review. Let us know if there are groups who would like to request a particular date/time. This workshop is not open to customisation, as it is part of the accreditation process.

Teaching Awards (can be customised) - Each year staff apply for UOW teaching awards (Outstanding Contribution to Teaching and Learning) as well as Office for Learning and Teaching (OLT) Citations and Awards (Teaching and Program). Typically, workshops are organised for OCTALS from September-October each year. These could be run at any time (on request), as a support for staff developing an understanding of what evidence they need to gather and organise for probation, promotion and teaching award applications.

This year the OLT Citation applicants will be working together as a cohort to develop applications, relying substantially on the group expertise and peer feedback.

Developing Grant Ideas (can be customised) - Each year staff apply for internal UOW funding via the Educational Strategic Development Fund (ESDF) as well as a number of categories of funding through the Australian Learning and Teaching Council.

ASD Professional Development Calendars are available for those interested in ESDF applications. For large ALTC Grants, support is typically offered in small groups. Please let us know if there are areas of interest around which you would like us to facilitate networks for discussion.

Portfolios (can be customised) - Staff need to gather evidence and store it to enable reflection on an array of artefacts. Join us and explore a range of strategies for organising this material, along with sharing ideas on effective tools for managing a growing number of media files. Suggest times to run this.

eLearning (can be customised) - Learning Designers offer an array of workshops:
• Cool Things@UOW..... eTeaching ideas
• eTeaching Journey '10 Tune-up
• Deeper Learning with Multiple Choice Questioning (MCQ)
• Assignments and Assessment in eLearning Space
• Blended Teaching Case Studies and Models
• Designing eLearning experiences
• Instructional diagrams for teaching
• A journey in a Virtual World
• Teaching innovation for Multi-location teaching
