About Us

The School is one of three Schools within the Faculty of Arts and incorporates the following programs: Media & Cultural Studies, Sociology and the Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies Program. The courses offered by our School contribute to the understanding and solutions to many of contemporary society’s complex issues and problems. A wide range of career and life paths are also facilitated through the skills, research expertise, and knowledge-base gained from our subjects and degrees including: social policy and administration, social activism, media and cultural industry-related positions as well as communication, public relations, advertising- and marketing -related positions. In conjunction with the honours degree, students can also pursue research and academic careers in these disciplines and areas of study.

The role of student representatives in the Faculty of Arts includes seeking out, listening to and bringing forward concerns, issues and feedback from students to the School Committee meetings.
