2013 Arts Awards Ceremony

The Faculty of Arts celebrated the achievements of its students at the annual Faculty Awards Ceremony on 15 May. A large number of students saw their academic excellence throughout the 2012 academic year recognised with awards offered by the Faculty and by a number of sponsors. This reflects the Faculty’s growth in students and outstanding quality over recent years.

Award sponsors and presenters included the Spanish Education Advisor from the Embassy of Spain (Dr Benimar Garcia Rodriguez); the Assistant to the Higher Education Attache from the French Embassy (Madame Gaelle Gallois); the Consul General of Italy (Mr Sergio Martes); the General Manager of the Illawarra Mercury (Mr Peter Dehnert) and the Chairperson of the Australian Industry Group Illawarra (Mr Bob Spiers).

The Mary Wade Prize for History and Politics was awarded for the first time in several years and special guest Mr Douglas Harrigan from the Mary Wade Family History Association attended the evening and presented the award.

The Faculty of Arts would like to recognise the awards sponsors and our staff for their ongoing support in fostering academic excellence and by making the annual awards ceremony a fantastic success for all who attended.
