Activities

The War, State and Community research group has held a variety of seminars, conferences, workshops and colloquia since its creation in 1997.

Current Activities

Some Past activities include

  • 2005 War and the State – a panel for the Australian Historical Association Conference, University of New South Wales, 3-9 July.
  • 2004 December 1 & 2: Research presentations — recently completed Honours theses and ongoing PhD research incorporating the 100th anniversary of the Roosevelt Corollary of 1904.
  • War and State Development — Research Day, December 2002
  • People and war: aspects of military history — three day international conference, July 2001
  • Inaugural Australasian World History Conference — two day conference, April 2000
  • Revolutions Day — one day colloquium, November 1999
  • World History — one day colloquium, October 1998. At this meeting an Australasian affiliate branch of the World History Association was formed.
  • Metanaratives, Global Histories and Historiography — a one day colloqium, October 1997.
