International Gramsci Journal (IGJ)
How to Submit
Advice for Contributors
General
The Editorial Committee welcomes the submission of articles and book reviews for publication in English, Italian or Spanish. These are reviewed by two referees in the language submitted on the understanding that the work has not been published elsewhere.
Please note that the International Gramsci journal does not translate the work of authors into other languages and, if accepted, articles and reviews are published online in the original language only. IGJ is able to publish translations that derive from refereed articles only if these are organised by the author.
Articles should be less than 10,000 words and reviews less than 2,000.
For Articles
Please send a very brief synopsis of 20-50 words, and your article (formatted in Word) as an email attachment to Dr Charles Hawksley: charlesh@uow.edu.au.
All correspondence will be conducted via email, so authors are required to provide a current email address and affiliation (if any) when submitting papers. When submitting please use the following template which provides examples of the correct font size, paragraph, spacing and referencing.
The Reviewing Process
Refereed articles are 'blind' peer reviewed by three referees. Please do not include any personal data on the emailed attachment (your email and abstract is sufficient).
If your article is accepted without changes it will be copy edited before publication. If the editors have specific questions concerning content authors will be asked to address only these issues.
If your article is accepted with minor changes, it will be returned to you with a suggested timeline for completion and resubmission to the satisfaction of the editors.
If your article is not accepted you will be notified and encouraged to pursue publication elsewhere.
Illustrations
The Journal welcomes articles accompanied by illustrations. If you wish for your article to include a graphic in must be embedded in the text. Captions should identify the artist or photographer, source and date of the image. The journal cannot pay for the preparation of illustrations or for royalties for their publication in the journal. Authors are required to obtain permission to publish images and provide the editor with written documentation that this has been received.
Copyright
Copyright of articles, reviews and graphics in the IGJ is vested in the authors, and copyright of the collection is vested in the Editorial Board, which reserves the right to grant permission for reproduction of excerpts on special occasions such as specific teaching use with limited circulation, or where the author/s cannot be contacted.
