Alpheus gets attention!
Following the media launch of Alpheus and its editors appearing in the Illawarra Mercury! Alpheus has been slowly gathering attention. We were approached by the State Library of NSW to have Alpheus linked to the national Pandora Archive so now all Alpheus articles will be available permanently to a wide audience. Follow the link below to check out Pandora yourself. Alpheus is available at

Several of our contributors have also been approached as a result of their articles. Jasmin Sydee was asked to present her Alpheus paper at a major international Environmental confernce by an organiser who had seen her paper on the site. Kylie Smith was contact by a journalist from the Sydney Morning Herald who was researching a similar topic for a novel and tried to get her sources out of her, which she of course cleverly avoided! Shayne George was contacted by one of the authors she is researching who had read her paper and is now in communication with that author, adding great depth to her research and exciting contacts for the future.
As you can see, Alpheus gets results.
We are planning the next edition for later this year so we would remind all postgrads to consider publishing with us. Our copyright is NOT exclusive so you can still publish that article elsewhere. We are not interested in perfection and you get no severe criticism – it's about works in progress and getting your ideas out to the public.
Alpheus is wholly run and managed by other postgrads (with technical support from faculty staff). If you would like to be involved in the editorial collective and get some great experience in organising a journal and sub-editing, then contact us now. You don't even have to be on campus – we meet once or twice before an edition is published but you can do sub-editing via email.
