Early Entry Information for the Faculty of Arts
Looking to secure a place at UOW in an Arts program before you sit the HSC?
The Early Entry Program allows current Year 12 students to apply for early acceptance into the following courses offered by the Faculty of Arts:
Entry is based on:
- Portfolio submission (including your trial HSC results)
- Interview
Criteria for applicants:
On the basis of your trial HSC (and evidence from your school work in years 11 and 12) we are looking for a mark of 80 per cent or above in two of your best subjects that are relevant to the degree for which you have applied.
Frequently Asked Questions
To complete your application:

- Step 2: Download the Early Entry Application form.
- Step 3: Complete the Early Entry Application form and mail with your portfolio. Your portfolio should include a copy of the following:
- CV
- School Certificate
- Year 11 and 12 reports
- Certificates of any educational competitions you have competed in
- References (from your part-time job, sports team, community group, etc) and copies of major projects you have completed at high school
- Extra curricular activities
- Passport photo

All students who apply will be invited (via the email address provided) to attend an interview on 29th or 30th September 2008.
Applicants applying for Early Entry from the far South Coast of NSW who are unable to travel to Wollongong for interviews, can opt to be interviewed from our Bega campus via video conference link. Please note students choosing this option will need to contact Mark Hutchings, markh@uow.edu.au before Friday 12th September to arrange an interview date and time.
Successful applicants receive either a guaranteed place or an offer that is conditional upon the results of their final exams.
Please note that successful applicants will still need to apply for University entry through the Universities Admission Centre (UAC).The relevant course needs to be the highest eligible preference on your UAC application in order to activate your Early Entry Offer.
If you do not receive an Early Entry offer you may still apply for a place in the Main Round UAC offers by applying in the usual way.
Applications open 1 July 2008, and close on the 23rd September 2008.

Early Entry is not available into the International Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies (Honours) and the Bachelor of Arts (Dean’s Scholars).
