"The Abduction of Megumi Yokota"

The film deals with the real life story of 13 year old Megumi Yokota who was abducted in Japan in 1977 by North Korean spies and transferred to North Korea.  The film looks at Megumi's family and the impact that her abduction had on them. It also includes the testimony of a former North Korean spy and his take on what happened when Megumi was abducted and what may have happened to her.

This documentary is a very human story in the context of Japan's geopolitical position during the Cold War. It helps viewers to understand Japan's ongoing issues with North Korea over the abduction issue.
