UOW Undergraduate Scholarships
Undergraduate scholarships are open to school leavers intending to complete one of the Faculty of Arts undergraduate degree programs including the following:
Bachelor of Arts;
Bachelor of Arts (Dean's Scholars);
Bachelor of Arts (Community, Culture & Environment);
Bachelor of International Studies;
Bachelor of International Studies (Dean's Scholars);
Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies;
Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies (Dean's Scholars);
Amount: $12,000 to 20,000 over the minimum duration of the undergraduate degree ($4,000 per year)
Number Available: Three
Criteria
- Commencing study in 2012 as a first year (no previous enrolment at UOW) full-time undergraduate student at UOW
- Outstanding academic achievement based on most recent academic records.
- Motivation and interests particularly in relation to nominated career path.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Evidence of leadership and participation in other areas such as sports, the arts, employment, school and community activities.
- Achieve a minimum ATAR of 95 (93 for Commerce, 90 for Education).
- Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident or holder of an Australian Humanitarian Visa.
Application
- A completed Future Student Scholarship Application form. (Some faculties will require additional supporting documents, details will be posted shortly.)
- A brief outline of your career ambitions and motivation in relation to your career path. Briefly explain why you have chosen to study at the University of Wollongong (maximum one printed page).
- Brief details of your major school activities, community involvement, leadership qualities and employment/work experience history (maximum of two printed pages).
- Copies of school reports for year 12 (or equivalent) and trial HSC results (or equivalent).
- Forward three complete copies of your application including attachments (ie one original and two photocopies). Each copy must be 'foldback clipped' (bulldog clip) together. Please do not staple or place folders with plastic sleeves or display books with plastic sleeves. Applications must contain only photocopies of original documents.
