Annual Canadian Studies Lecture Series
2002 - Canadian Studies Lecture
by Roch Carrier
Introduced by Special Guest Dagmar Schmidmaier, State Librarian and Chief Executive, State Library of New South Wales.
Roch Carrier, the National Librarian of Canada, and one of Canada's most decorated and beloved writers, presented the Annual Canadian Studies Lecture Series for 2002. This follows last year's popular talk by Margaret Atwood.
Roch Carrier is an Officer of the Order of Canada, the former President and then Director of Canada Council for the Arts, and an award-winning novelist and humorist.
A free screening of the award-winning National Film Board of Canada animation of Roch Carrier's most famous story, The Hockey Sweater, was also screened.
This event, held at the Wollongong City Gallery, was offered free to the public thanks to the generosity of Nortel Networks.
