Minorities and Cultural Assertions Literary and Social Diasporas

The conference will focus on the literary aspects of the Italian diaspora with keynote addresses by Professor Pasquino Crupi (Università per Stranieri "Dante Alighieri", Reggio Calabria, Italy) and Professor Joseph Pivato (Athabasca University, Alberta, Canada). Specific attention will be paid to the construction and representation of Italo-Canadian identities. However, papers on any aspect or context related to the conference theme are welcomed from all of the humanities disciplines, including but not necessarily restricted to: American Studies, Asian Studies, Australian Studies, Communication and Cultural Studies, Ethnic Studies, European Studies, History and Politics, Literature, Sociology, cross-disciplinary areas.
Proposals for papers should be submitted no later than 20 July 2004 in the following format:
